Just started working on my next thread painting. It's based on a photo of a Great Horned Owl that lives in our woods. The photo is a bit blurry, so I'm using another photo as a reference for detail. I've selected a vintage Kona Bay cotton fabric to begin putting together the raw edge applique. Tonight, I could hear the owl hooting while I was working. 🙂

I'm really enjoying printing on the velvet scarves I got from @dharmatradingco . They take natural dyes well and I think they're perfect for fall and winter. I really love the silver gray background color I got using a combination of wattle and myrobalan.
